Rules and Regulations

Gameplay

• All players must sign tournament waiver in person prior to first game.
• Each team is guaranteed to play three games.
• All games will consist of three, 15-minute periods with stop time in the last minute of the third period.
• All teams must be ready to play at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled time.
• In the first period, the clock will start after a 5 minute warm up
• Mercy Rule: If a team leads by five or more goals in the third period of the game, running time will commence and will only revert back to stop time if the spread is reduced to within five goals.
• If opposing teams have matching sweaters, first choice will go to the team who raised the most funds and the other team will need to wear pinnies which Baycrest will provide.
• Ties will be broken by a shoot-out by three players on each team.
• Standard non-contact rules apply.
• Only CSA-approved equipment is allowed.
• All player must wear CSA-approved helmets at all time when on the ice.
• No centre red line in all divisions (blue line icing). Automatic icing in effect.
• All team captains must sign the Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am game sheet prior to start of each game.
• Any player receiving three minor penalties or a game misconduct will be ejected from the game and any player receiving a match or major fighting penalty will be ejected from the tournament.
• Any game misconduct (other than a match or major fighting penalty) occurring in the last five minutes of a game will result in an additional one-game suspension.
• Persistent lack of control exhibited by a team will result in ejection of the team from the tournament.
• If a slap shot is taken (no penalty), the play will be whistled down and it will be treated as an icing. Faceoff in your own zone.
• Penalties will be taken as a penalty shot. Minor (1) Major (3) Clock will be stopped for the shot.

Fundraising

• To be eligible, teams of 11 (minimum) to 17 (maximum) players and one or two coaches will raise a combined minimum of $25,000 CAD through corporate and/or individual donations to play in the Scotiabank Baycrest Pro-Am.
• Teams must raise a minimum of $25,000 to participate, and draft positions will be determined by the total dollars raised by each team as of the deadline. (April 30, 2015 7 p.m.)
• If teams do not raise the required minimum of $25,000 CAD by the deadline they will not qualify for participation or be permitted to play in the tournament.
• If participating as an individual, the required minimum for fundraising is $2,000 CAD per person in order to play in the tournament.
• Any donations received by the Baycrest Foundation up to that point will be retained by the Foundation for care, education and research.

Participation

• Teams will be categorized by the following divisions: Men’s, Master’s and Women’s. Divisions must have a minimum four teams.
• Players registered on tournament website and reached their fundraising minimums either as a team or an individual will be eligible to play. No exception. Players are required to have proper identification at all times.
• In order to be eligible to play, teams must raise the required minimum of $25,000 CAD and individuals must raise the required minimum of $2,000 CAD.
